10 Beach Bag Essentials

Beach
noun \ˈbēch\
July truly marks the beginning of the summer season for most of us. We are off  of school, work and most importantly, of responsibilities. As it is the month of the year that you are more likely to head to the sea side, might it be in Europe, in the Tropics or anywhere else, I thought it would be the perfect time to write a post about my ultimate essentials for beach days especially as I have just spent 10 days in beautiful Cuba and enjoyed spending couple days at the Playa Ancon in Trinidad.

1. A Straw Bag
This season look out for a large straw bag. Not only, it is an absolute cute piece to own, it is also very practical to lug towels, swimsuits and all your seaside essentials.

2. A Hat
Not only this accessory will protect you from the sun, it can also become a statement piece of your beach outfit. Opt for a straw hat to give you this " Brigitte Bardot in St Tropez" vibe.

3. A Pair of Sandals
You want to bring on your vacations a pair of sandals versatile enough to be worn with cute summer daytime dresses and bikinis too. I personally always choose minimalist sandals that could easily be worn during day time for their comfort, during nights out for their chic appearance and at the beach for the practicality.

4. Body Oils
Summer is the perfect time of the year to invest in a lightweight body oil that will not only hydrate your skin but also give you a pleasing summer glow, a smooth and silky look -and feel- to your skin in addition to prevent it from peeling.

5. Sun Protection
Even know the sun does have beneficial effects on our general health, it is very important not to forget to protect our skin from damaging UVA/UVB rays. Therefore a sunscreen lotion or spray is much required when planning a day on the seaside.

6. A Pair of Sunglasses
If there is actually such a thing as a "summer essential" it definitely is a pair of chic sunglasses.

7. Good Reads
Reading a considerably captivating book at the beach might be my favourite seaside activity to do. I can spend hours and hours, laying on my deck chair and working my imagination as my eyes go through the pages of a book. While in Cuba, I spent most of my time at the beach reading "I am Pilgrim" which is thriller/crime novel written by Terry Hayes.

7. A Camera or your Phone
For obvious reasons, your phone is part of your beach bag essentials but you will also need a camera to document and capture the moment.

9. A Bikini or Swimsuit
If you are heading to the beach, it is most likely that you'll swim at some point. Did I really need to precise that a cute swimsuit is, without a doubt, part of your beach bag essentials ?

9. Tons of Water
Stay hydrated kids !

10. Last but not least... FUN !

And you, what do you usually pack into your bag for the beach ?
